William Paul 'Willie' Hura, 76 of Sheffield Lake, Ohio died Friday morning, July 8, 2011 in the Elyria Regional Medical Center, Elyria, Ohio. He was born on August 28, 1934 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Susan (nee: Matty) and Michael Hura. Mr. Hura moved at age one to Lorain where he resided until 1978 when he moved to Sheffield Lake to live the remainder of his life. He was a 1952 graduate of Lorain High School. Mr. Hura served in the United States Navy. He was on the USS Iowa from 1954 to 1956. Mr. Hura was employed for thirty five years as a pipe-fitter in the No 3 Seamless Mill before his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Friends of the Great Lakes Museum, Shipbuilding Club, Cleveland Model Boat Club and the Battleship Iowa Club. He enjoyed making model boats. Mr. Hura is survived by his brothers, Norm (Munsie) Hura of Huron, Ohio, Edward Hura of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Ronnie Hura of Vermilion, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Mike Hura on July 15, 2009. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 5 P. M. until 7 P. M. in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11 A. M. in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
