Shirley Ann Shuster

SHUSTER Shirley Ann Shuster, 69, of Lorain, passed away February 5, 2016 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria. Born January 4, 1947 to the late Paul and Ella (Bailey) Kanuch, she worked primarily as a school bus driver for Murray Ridge School and was an active member of the American Legion Post 30. Shirley loved the outdoors, specifically her yard and gardening. She had a great love for family and was an integral part in her grandchildrens lives. She was an avid camper and spent many a summer at Rajahland. She also loved boating. The Cleveland Browns were her favorite sports team, followed closely by the Indians. She loved working with children from being a Girl Scout leader to a volleyball coach and a school lunch lady. She was a member of the Police Wives Club of Lorain, as well as a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Lorain. She will be missed by many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Anthony Shuster in April of 2008; grandson, Christian Diaz; sister, Mary Wilson and brothers, Gary and Robert Kanuch. She is survived by daughters, Dee (George) Mikschewitsch, Valerie (Joe) Remaklus and Cathy Shuster; son, Charlie Shuster; sister, Emma Watson: 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Water A. Frey Funeral Home, Lorain, OH. Memorial Mass to be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, at Nativity BVM Church, Lorain, Ohio, with a Luncheon to follow. For those wishing to attend, Shirley will be interred with Charles after the luncheon at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetary in Rittman Ohio.
