Robert Lee Hester

Robert Lee Hester, 60, of Amherst, passed away February 11, 2016. Born July 27, 1955 to Aubrey Lee (Alice) Hester and Rachel C. (Coley) Baker, Robert was a member of the United States Army, where he met his wife, the former Janet Marie Kauffman. Robert's interests and loves included being a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching and attending all of the grandchildren's sporting events. His days included taking the grandchildren roller skating, ice skating, to the fair, boating and fishing. When he wasn't on the go, he enjoyed reading military, history and animal books. He also enjoyed playing the piano which his mother taught him at a young age. Robert was the most generous and caring person who greatly loved his whole family. Robert touched so many lives and will be missed greatly. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughters, Victoria Fahd and Savannah (Shawn) Garrison; sister, Elizabeth Humphreys; grandchildren, Matthew Schnaak, Liliana Fahd, Hailey Garrison and stepbrother, Christopher Hester. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 16, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, Lorain. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
