Robert Branscum Obituary

Robert Lee Branscum, 68 of Lorain, Ohio went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, August 28, 2011 in the New Life Hospice of St. Joseph, Lorain. He was born to the late Flora Lynn (nee: Flynn) and Herbert Branscum on April 17, 1943 in Keno Community, Wayne County, Kentucky. Mr. Branscum went to the Jonesville School House. He moved to the Amherst area before coming to Lorain where he resided for the last eight years of his life. Mr. Branscum was employed in the Elyria Foundry before, retiring in 2001. He played the guitar and listened to bluegrass music. Mr. Branscum enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, being with his family and going back to Kentucky. He loved the Lord and being in church. Mr. Branscum is survived by his wife of forty nine years Dorlit Sue (nee: Hale) Branscum; his son, Robert Lee (Clarissa J.) Branscum, Jr. of Lorain, his daughters, Nena F. Wall of Elyria, Ohio, Tammy L. (Roger D.) Partlow of Sheffield Twp., Ohio and Tonya S. Branscum of Lorain, his brother, Ernest (Zella) Branscum of Eubank, Kentucky, his sister, Mabel (Gilbert) Keith of Eubank, nine grandchildren and three great granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 2 P. M. until the time of the service at 11 A. M. on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in the Fleming Avenue Free Will Baptist Church on the corner of Fleming Avenue and Mayfield Road, Sheffield Twp., Ohio 44054. Pastor Rick Sutter will officiate. Burial will follow in Birmingham Cemetery. The WALTER A. FREY FUNERAL HOME is entrusted with the arrangements. On line condolences may be sent to www.freyfuneralhome.com.
