Philip Irvin Thomas, 77 of Sheffield Lake, Ohio went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Wesleyan Village Rehab Department, Elyria, Ohio. He was born on February 5, 1935 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late Catherine May (nee: Young) and Philip Henry Thomas. Mr. Thomas moved from Johnstown to Sheffield Lake in 1960. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Thomas was employed for thirty four and a half years as a chemical operator before retiring in 1994 as a foreman. He was a member of Midcentury Masonic Lodge, No. 725, F. & A. M., AARP, the F. O. P. A., Lodge 46, Lorain and the Lorain Seniors. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Helen Delores (nee: Schultz), his son, Philip Russell Thomas of Marbelhead, Ohio, his daughters, Marcia Ann (Daniel) Stiltner of Lorain, Ohio and Ruth Ann (Mark) Weiler of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, his brother, Arthur E. (Beverly) Thomas of Huntersville, North Carolina, sisters, Catherine Jean (Dean) Hughes and Donna Lee (Charles) Rager of Johnstown, five grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be taken to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Johnstown for interment. The WALTER A. FREY FUNERAL HOME, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052 is entrusted with the arrangements.
