Paul Edmond Vanderpool

Paul Edmond Vanderpool, a Lorain, Ohio native departed this life on October 24, 2014 in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Sue Ann LeSuer Vanderpool, children, Cathy Lynn LaBirdy, Melissa Lantz and Katrina Elencovf, his siblings, Kathleen, James and Vernon Vanderpool and six grandchildren of whom he was immensely proud. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Cecil Vanderpool. For thirty eight years, he was employed as a railroad engineer on the CSX RR and its predecessors, Chessey, C & O and Seaboard. Paul developed a method of cooking meals on the railroad much to the delight of his crew members. Over the course of his life, he enjoyed roller skating, square dancing, swimming and membership in the Masons, Shrine and Eastern Star for whom he often cooked. Paul was a fixture at fund raising dinners for Faith United Methodist Church, Lorain where he was elbow deep in the kitchen sink whenever he was available.
