Minnie Yonovitz (nee: Roth), 94 of Deerfield Beach, Florida, formerly of Lorain, Ohio died Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the Roca Raton Regional Hospital. She was born to the late Yolanda and Albert Roth on August 18, 1922 in Lorain, Ohio. Mrs. Yonovitz was married for fifty three years to the late Sam Yonovitz who died on January 10, 1995. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kent State University and her Master's Degree in Education from Bowling Green University. Mrs. Yonovitz was a devoted teacher and reading specialist at Garfield Elementary School in the Lorain Public Schools. After retiring in the early 1980s, Mr. and Mrs. Yonovitz moved to Deerfield Beach to enjoy the sunshine and world travel. She remained an avid reader throughout her life. Mrs. Yonovitz had tremendous pride in her children. She was a member of the Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue in Lorain. Mrs. Yonovitz is survived by her children, Albert (Nancy) Yonovitz of Missoula, Montana, David (Linda) Yonovitz of Del Mar, California and Karen (Jeff) Yonovitz of Charlottesville, Virginia and her grandson, Joshua Yonovitz of Connecticut. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Zacharias in 2010.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at
11 AM in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
