Mrs. Maxine Dickason, 83 of Lorain, Ohio passed away, Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the ER of Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain. She was born on January 18, 1929 in Frametown, West Virginia to the late Jurley M. (nee: Rollyson) and Lester Goff Ramsey. She moved to Lorain in 1951. Mrs. Dickason was a member of Tower Baptist Church, Lorain where she was a member of the ladies prayer group and worked in the kitchen. She retired in 1984 as manager of Petries Ladies Apparrel, Amherst, Ohio following 19 years of service. Mrs. Dickason worked as a "People Greeter" at Wal-Mart, Elyria, Ohio and McDonalds, Oberlin Avenue, Lorain where she was a dining room hostess. She volunteered at Meister Road School, Lorain where she helped children learn to read; she was known as 'Grandma." Mrs. Dickason volunteered at Lorain Community Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Dickason is survived by her daughters, Nancy E. Auble of Lorain, Donna Y. Lee of Sweet Home, Oregon and Bev L. Caraballo of Lorain, a brother, Kenna Ramsey of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, sisters, Arleen Stump of Gassaway, West Virginia and Nellie G. Brown of Wakeman, Ohio, eighteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and two great great grandsons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donnie E. Skidmore in 2000, her second husband, Dr. John R. Dickason in 1987, her twin brother, Menzil Ramsey and her other brothers, Paul, David and Arlen Ramsey. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 2 PM until 4 PM and from 6 PM until 8 PM at the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11 AM in Tower Baptist Church, 1313 Tower Blvd., Lorain, OHio 44053.
