Lois Edra Ormiston Wingate

Lois Edra (nee: Ormiston) Wingate, 88 died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin, Ohio. She was born on March 14, 1927 in Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio to the late Juanita Bell (nee: Pugh) and William Glen Ormiston. Mrs. Wingate graduated from Lorain High School and Lorain County Community College. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Lorain YWCA and as a secretary for Emmanuel United Methodist Church, both of Lorain, Ohio. For twenty eight years Mrs. Wingate served as an election poll booth worker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and genealogy. Mrs. Wingate was a member and past president of the Social Order of the Beauceant and Queen City Chapter, No. 66, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her brother, Roger A. (Marjorie Ann) Ormiston of Elyria, Ohio, son-in-law, John L. Krieg and two grandchildren, Allison and Matthew. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wingate was preceded in death by her husband of twenty eight years Harold Edroe Wingate in 1979, her daughter, Elaine Krieg and her sister, Mary James. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052 where funeral services will follow at 11:30 AM with The Rev. Mr. David Plant, interim pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Amherst, Ohio officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio.
