Juanita Skinner

Juanita Skinner (nee: Swindle), 78 of Sheffield Twp., Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, December 18, 2013 in the Ames Family Hospice House, Westlake, Ohio following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 11, 1935 in Rome, Georgia to the late Georgia Savanna (nee: Wynn) and Tom Dee Swindle. When Mrs. Skinner was in grade school she moved from Rome to Lorain, Ohio where she lived until 1962 when she made her home in Sheffield Twp. She was a homemaker who worked for K-Mart on Fairless Drive in Lorain for two years. Mrs. Skinner enjoyed walking, going to the golf course and beaches. She especially loved being with her grand and great grandchildren and holiday gatherings and dinners sharing her famous biscuits and fruitcakes. Mrs. Skinner is survived by her husband of sixty years Forrest Edward 'Bud' 'Clark' Skinner with whom she went to Hawaii for their twenty fifth anniversary, her sons, Ronald Lee Skinner of Sheffield Twp., Dennis James Skinner of North Carolina and Marvin Franklin Skinner of Pickerington, Ohio, her daughter, Virginia Carlene Poulin of Sheffield Twp., her brother, C. H. Swindle of Georgia, her sisters, Maxine of Ohio and Charlotte of Georgia, half brother, Joe, half sisters, Gaynell, Bunice, Doreen and Tommie Dee, eight grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4 PM until 7 PM in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052 where funeral services will be on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11 AM with Pastor Rich Henry of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44110-2602.
