Jon Francis Farkas

Jon Francis Farkas, 76 of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and Lorain, Ohio died Sunday, July 13, 2014 in the Franklin Plaza Nursing Home, Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on August 25, 1937 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Anastasia (nee: Schiska) who died in 1978 and Frank L. Farkas who died in 1975. Mr. Farkas resided in Lorain until he moved to Sheffield Lake where he made his home until 1960. He moved to the Cleveland area where he lived for the remainder of his life. Mr. Farkas attended St. Teresa Church in Sheffield, Ohio. He loved music; he played the piano and organ. Mr. Farkas is survived by his brothers, Robert L. (Barbara) Farkas of Buffalo, New York and George R. (Sharon) Farkas of Dayton, Ohio and his sister, Carol Stewart of Flint, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052 from 10 AM until 10:30 AM when prayers will be said. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Mary Parish, 310 Eighth Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 with The Rev. Fr. Jim Becherer, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
