Gracie Mullins Obituary

Gracie Gladys Mullins (nee: Barton), 73 of Lorain, Ohio died Saturday morning, December 18, 2010 in the New Life Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center, Lorain following a brief illness. Mrs. Mullins was born to the late Ola Mae (nee: Mullins) and Johnnie Earl Barton on August 29, 1937 in Steinman, Virginia. She was a 1955 graduate of Clinchco High School. In 1955 she moved from Clinchco, Virginia to Lorain. She was employed in the dietary food services at Lorain Community Hospital before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Mullins was a member for over thirty five years of the Fleming Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, Sheffield Twp., Ohio. Her life centered around her family and friends. Mrs. Mullins loved gardening, especially raising flowers and doing needle point and cross stitching. She is survived by her sons, Doug (Sharon) Mullins of Norwalk, Ohio and John Mark (Tracy) Mullins of Henrietta Twp., Ohio, her daughter, Connie (Ken) Mullins of Sheffield Twp., her brother, Johnnie (Billie) Barton of Cochran, Georgia, her sister, Nina (Bob) Orr of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death in 1974 by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Mullins to whom she was married for nineteen years. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 3 P. M. until 5 P. M. and from 7 P. M. until 9 P. M. in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11 A. M. in the Fleming Avenue Free Will Baptist Church on the corner of Fleming Avenue and Mayfield Road, Sheffield Twp., Ohio 44055. On line condolences may be sent to freyfuneralhome.com.
