Gerry Babics

Gerry Babics, age 64, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 31, 2016. Born July 11, 1951 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Robert C. and Loretta Mae (Hartman) Sanders, she lived her life in Lorain working for Ted Jacobs and Goodman/Heidelberg Distributors. She was a long time member of The First Congregational Church of Lorain and an avid Cleveland sports enthusiast as well as her son Larry's high school basketball teams. She coached and kept score for little league for the Lorain Youth Baseball and played softball for Amvets Post 47. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by John Babics and aunt, Tudy Day. She is survived by sons, Ronald (Irena Vitkovitsky, MD), Larry (Lisa) and Robert (Alexis) Babics; daughter Tami (Michael) Gregg; sisters, Nancy (Robert) Stinson, Gail (Terry) Robinson and Judie Nieto; grandchildren, Laken, Kyla, Beau, Brooks, Kasia, Elle, Reese and Avery; special cousin Patty (Bill) Flock; 8 nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 W. Erie Ave., Lorain, Ohio, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Todd Niley officiating. Interment to follow, Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Ohio.
