George Frederic Pebler, Jr., 65 of Lorain, Ohio was dead on arrival on Friday, March 11, 2011 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain. He was born to the late Irene and George Frederick Pebler, Sr. on May 15, 1945 in West Virginia. Mr. Pebler moved at an early age to Lorain where he made his home for the remainder of his life. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp during the Viet Nam War. Mr. Pebler was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge. He was employed as a welder for U. S. Steel, Lorain. Mr. Pebler enjoyed playing game systems and working on cars. He is survived by his wife of over thirty nine years Patricia Carol (nee: Harkless) Pebler, his sons, George F. Pebler, III, Stephen A. Pebler, both of Sidney, Ohio and Christopher S. Pebler of Lorain, his daughters, Patricia Marie (Jason) Douglas of Sidney and Tammy G. (Jimmy) Cooke of Kentucky, twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 2 PM until 5 PM in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, 44052. Funeral services will follow at 5 PM in the funeral home with The Rev. Mr. Justice officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Louis Paul Proy Chapter, No. 20, D. A. V. By his request, he will be cremated following the services. Condolences to freyfuneralhome.com
