George A. Conke

George A. Conkle, 63 of Elyria, Ohio, formerly of Sheffield Lake, Ohio died early Friday morning, April 19, 2013 in his home following a short illness. He was born in Raleigh Co., West Virginia on April 12, 1950 to the late Murlene (nee: Long) Conkle Beynon and Elmo Conkle. Mr Conkle was the apartment manager of Boardwalk and Park Place Apartments in Sheffield Lake. He was a member of the West Ridge Baptist Church, Amherst, Ohio. Mr. Conkle was also a member of the Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who especially enjoyed trout fishing; he raised homing pigeons. Mr. Conkle is survived by his wife, Murlene (nee: Brooks) Conkle; his sons, George A. Conkle, Jr. of Norwalk, Ohio and James Eric Conkle of Elyria; his sisters, Kathy (Dale) Messick and Theresa (Eric) Dudley both of Elyria, two grandchildren, Tiffani and Andrew and his brother, Truman (Rita) Long of North Carolina. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 2 PM until 4 PM and from 6 PM until 8 PM at the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052 where funeral services will be Wednesday, April 24, 2-13 at 11 AM with The Rev. Mr. Bill Fraley officiating.
