Gary David Stotzer, Sr. was born May 1, 1947 and passed away January 1, 2018 following a chronic illness. He served in the Vietnam war from 1966 to 1968 and was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart. He is survived by his children, Stephanie Anne Riggs and Gary David Stotzer, Jr. ; and grandchildren Alex, Jessica and Trinity, Gary and Elizabeth, siblings Leonard, Bob, Art, Tom and Bonnie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Art Sr. and Ruby Stotzer and brother, Jack Hornick.
Gary was known to be a very charitable and giving man, helping out others in need and always willing to share what he had with others. He was a welder by trade and worked at the Shipyards in Lorain for many years. He enjoyed nature and animals and riding his John Deere tractor. He will be missed by many. Gary will be put to rest at the Western Reserve National Cemetery on Friday, January 26th, at 2:00pm where he will receive military honors. Friends and family will then gather to celebrate Gary's life at 4:00 pm in the Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermillion, OH 44089.
