Debra Lynne Young (nee: Laurenti), 59 of Lorain, Ohio died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 following a short illness. She was born on December 16, 1951 in Lorain to the late Marguerite Ann (nee: Kovanes) and Joseph James Laurenti. Mrs. Young was a life long Lorain resident. She was a very dedicated and compassionate employee to the elderly at Amherst Manor, Springer Retirement Center where she was employed for thirty years. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amherst Manor, especially Laura and Mr. Springer for their kind support. Mrs. Young had a passion for doing cross word puzzles, sudoku, bowling and playing bingo. Her life centered around caring for her grandkids and her extended family. She is survived by her son, Ivan Nathaniel Young, Jr. of Elyria, Ohio, her daughter, Monique Marie Young of Elyria, her brother Thomas J. Laurenti of Lorain, her sister, Cynthia L. (Donald C.) Leach of Amherst, Ohio, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Nathaniel Young in 1971 and her brother, James M. Laurenti in 1996. Private family services will be at the WALTER A.
