Chester Frederick, 88 of Lorain, Ohio died early Wednesday morning, December 10, 2014 under the care of the Hospice of the Western Reserve. He was born on March 24, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland where he attended John Hopkins University. Mr. Frederick moved to Lorain in 1967 when he bought property in Avon, Ohio which he developed into Resthaven Memory Gardens. He became a multi-engine pilot, flying from age sixteen till fifty five. Mr. Frederick went to the Federal Trade Commission in Washington D. C. to institute price regulations for pre-arranged funerals. He was known in the area for portraying Benjamin Franklin and educating school children about him. Mr. Frederick was Past President of the Pre-arrangement-Interment Association. He was a member of the Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue and Bnai Brith. Mr. Frederick is survived by his wife of sixty three years Norma (nee: Pierce) Frederick, his son, Ronald I. (Jacquelyn) Frederick of Solon, Ohio and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven J. Frederick. Funeral services will be Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:30 AM in Resthaven Memory Gardens. A period of mourning will be observed at the late residence. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
