Betty Jane Heffley

Betty Jane Heffley (nee: Ross), 82, formerly of Lorain, Ohio died Monday evening, March 21, 2011 in Berea Specialized Care Facility following a ten year illness. She was a 1947 graduate of Lorain High School. Mrs. Heffley was born on March 19, 1929 in Amherst, Ohio to the late Anne Lorie (nee: Compson) and Stephen Decatur Ross. She was employed for eleven years as the bar manager of McGarvey's Restaurant in the late '50s and early '60s. She was the manager of Spring Valley Country Club in Elyria, Ohio. Her last employment was at Marie Timbers in South Amherst, Ohio. Mrs. Heffley was a former member of the Salvation Army. She was an avid reader and loved competitive roller skating and bowling, attaining a 300 game. She is survived by her sons, William John Keller of Indiana and Charles Edward (Arlene) Heffley of Lorain, her daughters, Starr-Lynn (George) Kuznar of Vermilion, Doreen Ann Jones of Lorain and Iona Rose (Chris) Heffley of Medina, Ohio, her brother, Walter 'Bud' Ross of Lorain, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heffley was preceded in death by her son, John Stephen Keller, her brother, Stephen D. Ross, Jr. and her sisters, Elizabeth Jones and Juanita Pong. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 4 P. M. until 7 P. M. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home.
