BERTHA F. FLIGNOR Bertha F. Flignor, 93 of Coconut Creek, Florida, formerly of Lorain, Ohio died Friday afternoon, May 11, 2012 in her home where she was lovingly cared for by Mrs. Nora Rose Thomas for the past eleven years. She was born in Elyria, Ohio on November 6, 1918 to the late Sarah (nee: Wine) and Ben Smith. Mrs. Flignor was a member of Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue, Lorain where she was a member of the Temple Sisterhood. She was a Life Member of Hadassah International for whom she served as local president. Mrs. Flignor was very involved with the catering in the synagogue. She was a homemaker who excelled in baking and cooking. Mrs. Flignor is survived by her son, Dr. William (Mary Ann) Flignor of Las Vegas, Nevada, her daughter, Candy (Alex) Gellen of Cincinnati, Ohio and six grandchildren, Laurence Gellen, Scott (Amy) Gellen, Angela Flignor, Michael Flignor, Elliott Flignor and Sean Flignor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Sol J. Flignor in 1992 and her brother, Isadore Smith. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11:30 AM in Salem Cemetery, Sheffield Twp., Ohio with Cantor David Wolinsky of the ABI Synagogue officiating. Burial will follow. The period of mourning will be observed at her daughter's home. Memorial contributions may be made the ABI Synagogue, Northern Hills Synagogue, Cincinnati or Hadassah International. The Walter A.
