Ann Muzik Peck (nee: Wakerean), 97 a native of Lorain, Ohio went to her eternal rest on October 12, 2017. She was born on September 21, 1920. She graduated from Lorain High School, class of 39A. During World War II, she did defense work at Romec Pump in Elyria. For many years Mrs. Peck worked as a sales associate at the former Smith & Gerharts Department Store in Lorain. She also worked at Lorain City Hall for the Clerk of Courts. Mrs. Peck was a devout Christian who was a sixty five year member of the former First Congregational Church, Lorain. She served her church in many ways as a deaconess, greeter, usher, Diaconate Board member and committee member for Thrift Buys Shop. Other organizations in which Mrs. Peck was very active were Lakeland Women's Club, Antique Club, Fellowship Supper Club and Cosmopolitan Club. She was a den mother for Boy Scout Troop, #306. Mrs. Peck was a very active and energetic person who loved reading, traveling, word puzzles, sports and interior decorating. She had a passion for Big Band music, dancing, collecting angels and watching CNN and any programs pertaining to animals, especially Jack Hanna. Mrs. Peck was truly an angel sent to earth by God-blessing and touching the lives of all who knew her. She will now be carrying out her work in heaven as we continue to feel her loving and guiding presence each day. Mrs. Peck is survived by her son, Lynne (Kathy) Muzik of Willoughby Hills, Ohio, her daughters, LaDean Hutter of Elyria and Lucinda (James) Keiser of Lorain, stepson, John (Bonnie) Peck of Amherst, stepdaughter, Linda (Leo) Schreiber of Michigan, three granddaughters, one grandson, six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded by her parents, Aspazia (nee: Swick) and Simeon Wakerean, sisters, Helen Dan and Virginia Glasbrenner, husbands, Joseph Muzik and Lewis R. Peck and stepson, James Peck. Friends will be received on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 2 PM until 4 PM and from 6 PM until 8 PM at the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 45052. Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church, 423 Washington Avenue (at Fourth Street), Lorain, Ohio 44052 with The Rev. Mr. Brian Burke, Interim Pastor of Community Congregation UCC, Amherst, Ohio officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio.
