Jewell Mae Christman (nee Sisco), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born on November 4, 1929, in Bemis, Tennessee, to Robert Franklin and Ethel Mae Sisco.
Jewell was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Sheffield Lake and served as the Past Worthy Matron of Ohio Eastern Star Day Chapter 479, leaving an indelible mark on those communities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel Sisco, her brother Robert H. Sisco and wife Ann, as well as her husbands William C. Anderson and Merritt W. Christman, her sons William J. Anderson and Timothy W. Anderson, and her granddaughter Shanon L. Golay. Jewell is survived by her brother Benny Sisco (Betty), her son Robert Anderson and his wife Janice, daughter-in-law Debbie Anderson, and her 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2 to 5pm at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio 44055. Dinner and celebration of Jewell’s life to immediately follow the visitation. Her funeral will be held Monday at 10am in the funeral home. Interment to follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
